Majority of Students Learning Remotely Despite Schools Reopening
While 52% of white students were enrolled full-time, in-person at grade four and 40% at grade eight, the estimates for Black, Hispanic and Asian students were all 32% or below at grade four and 23% or below at grade eight. Though the percentages of Black students receiving full-time, in-person instruction in both grades ticked up between January and February, as well as for students with disabilities, the majority remain mired in some type of remote learning.
