Substitute Teachers, Diversity, Recruitment, and Retention During Covid-19
Even before the coronavirus pandemic descended upon schools, teacher absences were on the rise, leading to an increased demand for substitute teachers who were often in short supply, according to a new survey from the EdWeek Research Center. The pandemic could create more challenges, as 1 in 5 teachers say they are unlikely to return to the classroom in the fall and others may faceabsences if infected by the disease.
